I would be considered a Newbie in Medical Tourism (MT), but far from unexperienced in business and negoitiations.
I come from a family, where tough ethics were taught, with hard work & a belt. I am unusual with other Americans today. For, I started work at age 11, because my father wanted to make the best out of me. I finished the Uni, to be a teacher, became a wife & mother...and being being married to a self-starter businessman, I learned everything there is in a Business today. (By the way...he always had the gift of jab more than me, but I am still good). [He will read this, and I just wanted to poke in his side].
I've learned legal, tax, proposals, how to get professionals on your side; licensing, advertising, gimicks, etc. I've learned how to sell, and find the demand. I've even the knack to get to know the 'personal' life of either clients or people I've subcontracted to. So, there was 16 years of this. Should I go on? We use to make $90,000 in 2 weeks on a good business. And give 1/2 to family/friends who needed it. (Well, there was that one year when we did a huge travel).
I found MT about 2 months ago & have researched daily (except holiday crunch time). I brought it up to others- for investment, and the men dismissed it (they are stuck domestically, but I will win them & had another talk with one tonight. My own husband (who is extremely business oriented), stated,"Show me the first dollar, and I will invest in your company." (OMG).
So, that is basically it. It comes down to a 'woman,' generating a business idea - from Middle East. I am asked, why do you not launch your business now? Hit it on the net? It is because, I am wanting to appear as professional and have people in my network. I need to have serious contacts. I want directories, listings, I want connections. When these customers contact me...I want to sit on that very phone and answer all their needs. SO, I will push on it. And you have no clue, what I am doing in my neck of the pond.
What I like about MT, is that it interweaves three elements for MY LIFE: (1) Moral ETHICS in helping people. (2) I can make a living for my family. (3) People I have met in MT, who are very professional...in fact, same as me. We have a goal in life, but we are not greedy people. There is that ethical boundary.
Yes, I am a newbie in MT. But, in 4 more months, I will understand this business like the back of my hand.
I read inbetween the lines of articles, and I re-read quotes. I once read, that if one does NOT get back to their customer in 4 hours max, you lost them. I pick up on things quick.
Now, understand, that is this NOT a blog about news...I am not fed things as of yet.
I promised someone I would post to get these 700 members gng! And I wanted to keep my promise for 2009.
And, as I get more into this business, I will post more.
I can tell you this.....there was only one thing I loved in life, which was teaching Shakespeare and Mythology. Today, I am in love with MT. So, MTA...I will join. Other things I will. And what you are seeing now, is a birth of an LLC.
I love being personal and spreading business to business. I love making connections...and one day, I will meet one of you.
Well, I said my heart about MT. I wrote my first blog. Now, come the wrath.
Luv ya....Helen
let's take this thing to a whole new level....because I just see it. I haven't pin-pointed it yet, but I am seeing it. what I am not seeing is more connections. And business ppl know what I am talking about.
Luv ya..Helen.
