Networking and Teamwork is the foundation that medical tourism should be built on.

It is the primary focus of Thailand Medical Tourism to provide not only outstanding medical services but to also provide outstanding and seamless travel service to make the trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

We look forward to networking with others to provide the best service possible whether inbound or outbound. Only with teamwork and focus on the need of the consumer can this be accomplished.

No one can provide outstanding service in this industry without the teamwork of all of the necessary support services. This begins with planning, arranging any medical tests or pre-op services recommended by the medical staff, making all travel and support services arrangements, arranging all services at the destination facility, arranging post recovery services in the host country, plans for a safe journey back home and then being sure that the recovery will continue and any medical services required will be attended to once the patient is home.

This is far more than just medical and travel arrangements. The emotional needs and support of friends and family cannot be disregarded. Any problems occurring anywhere need to be promptly solved and attended to. We are not providing a simple service. We are dealing with multiple countries, cultures and industries that will all play a vital part in the end result. There needs to be personal attention to everything.

I believe the importance of support services and industries have not been given adequate consideration in the past. They must be focused on in the future as this industry affects people’s health and lives.

The health insurance industry, the financial industry, charities, and friends and family our often needed to provide finacial support. In most cases, funds for medical services will need to come from multiple sources. It is important to find out in advance what, if any can be covered by insurance or other resources and what type of arrangements and documentation needs to be provided. Lenders requirements that need to be followed. Charities may be able to offer assistance with some expenses but not others. Even friends and family may be more inclined to help with certain types of expenses than others. Failure to address these issues and provide required documentation can result in an unnecessary financial burden falling back on the patient or the inability of the patient to pay for services rendered. The financial service community plays a vital role in medical tourism.

Competition is for salespeople. There is no place for sales in this industry. We are providing a service not a product. Our emphasis must be on finding and providing the best care possible with a united effort to provide all of the various support services as well.

The value brought from support services cannot be undervalued. The best medical facilities in the world cannot obtain the best medical results without the services of many outside of the facility. The patient’s attitude and state of mind can improve or diminish the results. Instead of the facilities trying to expand into areas outside their expertise, they should focus on what they do best and work with other industries to provide the non medical services.

If the destination or the service is not right for the patient, it’s likewise not right for anyone.

It is essential that we get to know one another and find out how we can best support each other for the benefit of all.
