Dr. Mayer,
This is a justified point you make and I'm glad you shared your opinion. You are right in stating that thus far, stem cell therapy is still considered an alternative modality and cannot be referred to as a basis for healthcare.
I do believe we have a long way to go in terms of research and operational standards when it comes to SCT, but I am hopeful for the future, especially because it gives very sick people the opportunity to look forward to the future, one without terrible and life-threatening symptoms.

As far as I can tell SCT is an alternative treatment modality.
So far there are no reputable series of patients or studies that confirm its usefulness.
At the present time NIH is supporting research for SCT in post acute neurological events
to the tune of about $10 million annually, but not CP
My opinion is that if medical tourism is to take off as a respectable field,we should be promoting
accepted methods and meet general standards of care.
