Cuba has just patented the world's first therapeutic vaccine against adavance lung cancer

The vaccine, CIMAVAX-EGF, has been administered successfully to more

than 1000 patients in Cuba.

According to experts, the vaccine, which resulted from more than 15 years of research, turn advanced lung cancer

into a controllable chronic disease.

The vaccine, based on skin growth factor, attacks the system linked to the tumor and does not cause

severe side effects.

CIMAVAX-EGF is administered after the patient concludes the treatment with radiotherapy

chemotherapy, and prevents the tumor from growing causing related toxicity.
