JCI Accreditation is both beneficial and disadvantageous to healthcare providers. What I feel most of the healthcare providers are getting JCI for the sake of marketing and make some big American companies supply patients to them.
We are launching a new Medical Travel Company to serve the San Francisco Bay Area.

The little one man operation can literally get involved in a day and they are getting out there in our way some now... but they can't last. You've been a year getting set-up... that's about right. The only word of warning that I would give you is do not bring in investors that are not engaged in and familiar with this industry. This is an industry of start-up opportunities, and it takes a speculators with time and understanding. Also... don't let the opportunities that unfold in front of you allow you to lose focus on your business plan. Develop the steps you want to follow, and follow those steps... those opportunities will still be there when you get there, but if you try too many things at once, you'll never get very good at any of them... and of course,
Welcome to the business !

I agree with you on the need to emphasize that the patients spend a sufficient time post-op to recover and travel back. That may actually start with the planning on our end.
To be honest Mark, I was always concerned about the perception of Medical tourism as another industry being lost to outsourcing. Therefore I can’t say that I’m surprised by your observations. Do you feel we will have a hard time changing this image?
I didn't realize that the link I posted doesn't take you directly to the article. I apologize for that. Let me see if I can cut and paste the article. It's quite interesting to read. I would love to hear your feed back once you've had the chance to read the article.
