What is the Strengths and Weaknesses of Turkey's Health Industry?
Turkey holds a promising position for a bright future in medical tourism. Many improvements have been recorded in the health aspects of the country, which has been advancing on the road to full membership in the European Union. For one, the number of hospitals that provide health services in accordance with EU standards has increased rapidly. For about 10 years now, the technological infrastructure, as well as the comfort and quality of services of the hospitals in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, have been on the same level as their European counterparts. Moreover, the majority of doctors and other health personnel who are experienced, skilled and knowledgeable reside in these cities.Aside from the three major cities, there are also hospitals that provide health services at par with European standards in the provinces of Antalya, Konya, Kayseri, Bursa, Adana, Kocaeli, Gaziantep and Samsun. Thank you for your question!
Me and my partner are running (you could say starting – we have had like 80 patients so far) a medical tourism company in Estonia. Organisation is called The Health Clinic LLC. Our licensed medical partner is Adams Kirurgia Grupp LLC and they are focused on plastic surgery, weight loss surgery and general surgery. So these are the medical fields at the moment that we are focused on.
At the moment, we do not have our own clinic, but we are executing operations in two hospitals - weight loss surgery takes place in North Estonia Medical Centre, which is the most important medical centre in Estonia. Plastic surgery and general surgery takes place in Estonias biggest private hospital, Fertilitas. Compared to the rest of the world, our biggest clinic is a small clinic I believe :)
Estonia is a beautiful country and the prices for medical procedures here are very cheap. We are cooperating with a big hotel group so a luxurious accommodation wouldn’t be a problem. And sightseeing can be organised as well.
