Medical Tourism is a multi dimentional multi cultural industry. It involves services and skills from many industries. It also involves working with others from various coutries, cultures and background. No industry can provide all of the skills and services needed.

We need to obtain the services of those with the best ability to provide them. The one skill that is essential regardless of what role you play is the ability to work as a team and to support each other. Only as a united effort can we provide the patient with the best care and service.

What do you have to contribute and what role will you play? Our strength is as a group, and how we work together.

Dear Miss Cherie Bright,
I really appriciate your way of thinking and i agreed on your all raising points regarding medical tourism. Definitly when we are working in shap of group we should interact and we should share all the points and we should urge for the solution.I already have offered you that i am always available to perform duty for your big aim.
One thing i want to share with you which is the big problem for sub continent countries (Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Philpine, Bangladesh etc). The problem is the issuing of the visa. I have many patients in my contact who faced this problem even they well deserve and they fulfil all the requirements of the embassies. No doubt there were some fake cases found but when we will work together we can set a criteria for those patients who needs a high professional treatment and looking for our help. I hope you will think optimisticly and will raise this point amoung the Medical Tourism community specially those who have absolutely no problem with travelling arround the world like ( EU member countries, US , UK , Canada, Australia etc). Best REGARDS, Nasir Mahmood
The VISA is a very important point that many of us are unaware of. It is true that individules from places like US, Canada and Europe either need no VISA or obtaining one is simple.

We have a group from Thailand that we are escourting on a trip to Europe. Kiki has made me aware that it is very different for inividules from Thailand to obtain a VISA and issuance is not guaranteed.

In everything we plan we have to be aware that if a VISA is not obtained, they can't take the trip.

It would be great to get the assistance of those companies providing that service to assist us.

It would probably be well worthwhile for the industry to approach the government of the countries promoting medical tourism and encourage issuance of expedited or simplified VISAS for those visiting for medical purposes as well as their travel companions. Most countries have special VISAS for students. It would be very appropriate to do the same for patients.

This is a subject that should definately be discussed at the conference. It takes organizations to initiate change in governmental procedures. Single individules have a harder time being heard but combined voices are often heard.

Thank you for raising this important issue.

Cherie
