Greetings Kiki !

Bumrungrad International Hospital is number 6th. on the 2010 list of Top 10 World’s Best Hospitals for medical tourists according to MTQUA.

This data showing the growing number of international medical tourists who realize medical tourism in Thailand can be really advantageous for finding world-class medical care services such as heart surgery doctors in Thailand.

Thanks,

Hospital Thailand

THAILAND STEM CELL THERAPY.
Kiki... I am working with a wealthy gentleman living in the Middle-East, who wants to have Stem Cell Therapy done in Bangkok. He is counting on us to set this up for him - will be arriving with his brother and servant. Will be there as necessary for initial treatments and needs car and private driver, and very high-end accommodations for he and his staff - not too far from this Medical Facility. Would you have any informaiton that you could share with me in behalf of this client ?
Thank you,
Jack Schafer

Access to information about medical tourism healthcare choices and available procedures is creating a group of medical travelers that are not traveling abroad based solely on price, but giving major consideration to where they can access the best and most advanced medical procedures for their medical condition.

There are many procedures available in other countries that are not available in ones native country, Examples are hip resurfacing instead of hip replacement or belly banding instead of gastric bypass, These often involve less complications and shorter recovery times in addition to the cost savings.

Another much sought after procedure not available in most countries. Stem-cell therapy is replacing heart surgery, joint replacement as well as treating multiple conditions like spinal cord injury, autism, MS and a host of other conditions with miraculous results. In Thailand it’s being used for heart patients that are terminal and cannot have heart surgery there has been miraculous results. Most of the therapies involve the use of the patients own stem cells that are modified in a lab to bring healing without the risk of rejection.

Jurisdictions like Thailand and Singapore are famous for combining the use of both Western and Eastern Medicine. Although the body won’t always heal itself without medical intervention, when medical science is combined with the body’s own healing properties, the combination can have remarkable benefits to the patient.

We have to advance to what will bring the best results for the patient rather than what is the physician’s personal training or what procedures will the insurance company approve. Medical lobbies by insurance carriers and drug companies should not determine what medical course of treatment is prescribed or given to the patient. The patient needs to be able to obtain recommendations and research various alternatives and determine what is best for that person.

Choice of destination of medical services is not necessarily what’s available in the closest location. It’s becoming, as it should be, what location has the best treatments and historic results for the patient’s health and medical condition on both a short term and a long term basis.

The primary focus has to be on the patient’s welfare. Some countries will always be ahead of others in specialty areas. The patient is entitled to the best care available regardless of the country they live in and what is readily available.

“While geographical proximity is important in health service trade, distant is not a deal breaker. The fact that long-haul medical tourism is growing indicates that international patients are willing to forgo a nearby location for one that, while distant, is preferable according to other criteria. The advent of low air fares and frequent flyer miles have made the obstacle of distance easier to overcome. As a result, Thailand continues to be the favorite destination of Americans; India’s Escort Heart Institute claims 40 percents of its patients come from United States, UK, Canada, Europe and Africa; and the Appollo Hospital Group says much of its foreign demand comes from the Middle East and Africa. In this case, there’s likely that there is a direct relationship between the time you spend getting to a destination and the rewards you expect in return. Rewards take the form of successful surgery , exceptional wellness experience, an exotic vacation etc..”

Thailand is fabulous. The distance depends on where the patient lives. Distance is a major consideration for some procedures but is less important for others. Certainly a heart a stomach procedure would have to be given major consideration. Someone having dental work, hair transplant or IVF may be more concerned about enjoying the destination and not how far they have traveled. It's all relevant.

Living in beautiful Hawaii we have a great place to live but have to travel much farther than most to get anywhere. This may be tiring but it certainly doesn't keep me away from anywhere in the world.

Living in somewhere like Hawaii, especially beautiful Kauai,
Has the upside of everyone wanting to do business and often being willing to travel to where I live. I'm sure the same is true for Thailand.

Both of my sons were drawn to Thailand and the result was two beautiful Thai daughters. I must also recognize by beautiful international grandchildren.

The world is full of beautiful people. We are very fortunate to be in an industry that allows us the opportunity to make friends with people from all over the world as well as form business alliances with many of them.

The world is a beautiful place with people of all cultures and backgrounds afforded the opportunity to work and play together. I'm especially fortunate because these cultures have been blended and become a part of my life and family.

My children and grandchildren have truly enriched my life in every way.

Thank you for the invite... Thailand is one of my favorite places to visit on the planet. The Thai people are some of the nicest in the world, and I can't wait to get back. Wish it were not so far away - that does impose a problem on more serious surgical clients, but having to hand around for an extra week in Thailand is certainly not a bad deal either !
