Each day we can see the growth graph of Healthcare industry and i believe that Nursing is the department which plays a very important role in this. Nursing department is the only department which is directly connected with the patient.

We can compare healthcare delivery system to the structure of an atom with patient centered as the nucleus and the service providers revolving around it. The nurses would be placed in the closest orbit and in maximum number than any other hospital staff being directly invloved in the patient care and in the next orbit the physicians would come who make major and critical decisions regarding patient care and in the last orbit other supportive and attendants would come.

Considering the importance of a nursing staff , continuous training and development is needed. In fact a good quality and accreditation system emphasizes on CME programs and CDE prorams for nurses. I know a group in India which carries out several awareness and development programs in India and they are running successfully.

Hello All! My medical concierge services in Brazil required that I create my own staff of specially trained nurses to care for my patients IN the hospital and once back at the hotel for private shifts in post op care but also trained in wound care and dressing changes using hydrocolloid bandages (Duoderm specifically). As far as I am concerned, this kind of service is needed even more in the USA where we kick patients out of the hospital or plastic surgery clinics in less than 24 hours, inviting seromas, popped stitches, infections and other complications that would be totally avoidable with proper post op care. I have a working model that altho I started in Brazil, I believe is very easily applied in the states, if anyone is interested, they can contact me. Also, Jenny, what did you have in mind? I think there will be a need for this as well.
Blessings,

I recently heard of companies that are employing RN's LPN's and CMA's to provide follow up care to the patient once they arrive home.
