No matter what happens, change in the USA Health care system is inevitable... and necessary.
Is the single payer, Government run system working anywhere it has been implemented ? Fortunately, we have some history to review from countries where the political flavor is not socialism, but the medical system is... and it would be interesting to hear from individuals who have experience dealing within a system like that - 1. How does it work for the population 2 - How does it work for the Medical community - 3. If you could make it better, what would you do ?
and finally... When (not if) we as a population ,have the scientific technology to literally preserve life indefinitely, and either freeze or even reverse aging, who is to step up and draw the line in the sand as to entitlement ? Should those decisionsl be determined by ethnics, finances, demonstrated abilities, value - and what value ??? Does a democratic system have the ability to cull itself ?
Thank you Robert,
This "area" has been here for a month and a half, and no one had anything to discuss or add or debate.
These are difficult questions... and we are the pilgrims (or mavericks) with optional methods to do medicine. Meeting the East with the West, and taking lawyers and insurance companies out of the healthare industry. THESE are some of the
differences that we can start to unravel and implement - and if they work, even the politicians will climb on board and take credit !
if we can't wrap our brain around these issues, then no one is going to be able to.
