Obama is just one of the many factors that have been interfering in American medicine over the last four decades.The first blow was dealt in the mid sixties by the introduction of Medicare. What has it done to the cost of medical treatment in the US? Before this costs were very competitive and the whole world looked up on America to spearhead progress in medicine. Now with governmental interference in medicine, free research is slowing down. When there is a dearth of new ideas, health care will not progress very much. The record of the government is abysmal in lowering cost of health care. So why should it be different now?
