Hi,

I recently started a medical tourism company and I am still struggling to get clients. I am advertising on google but it doesn't seem to be very efective. I am paying a lot fo money and not getting sufficiently good results.

Also, I am doing all I can for ranking organically on google but its of no use so far. Any help or advice from this community will be greatly appreciated.

Hello I am beginning a medical tourism company as well but targeted specifically to Costa Rica. My primary company in Costa Rica is the business of SEO and helping small businesses get to the top of the rankings in Google and other search engines. I am having great success at this business in Costa Rica. I developed http://www.healthcheckcostarica.com over the last three weeks and built the site with SEO in mind and months of research in to keywords and strategies. While I have yet to market the site I am already in the first to the fifth page of Google for certain strong keywords and am ranked in the top 500 sites in Costa Rica and in the top million in the world. I am already receiving traffic. As I said I develop marketing strategies for small businesses and am launching my own campaign for my Costa rica site as we speak. If you think this type of service could help and as long as we are not in direct competition I would be willing to speak to you about helping your site traffic as I help my own.
My suggestions are:

- nice and clear website
- activity on Twitter, Facebook, SlideShare, Youtube, Medical Tourism websites, patient forums
Hi Roberto,
Do you know of any specific medical tourism websites and patient forums which I could use?
Given the power of the forum and the fact that we can express our thoughts and opinions, I would like to begin by stating that the very nature of Medical Tourism is Health Care abroad or in other terms health care in different countries, which in turn brings it to the conclusion that we are in a global market. So marketing yourself globally is the only option available. The most cost effective medium used today in promoting a company, or organization globally is the internet. With that being said we need to look at the different options available that we have that we can use to market ourselves. While options like SEO (Search Engine Optimization) has its benefits in its own aspect as far as helping your rankings in web engine searches, foremost the most important objective is to express and educate the consumer as to the products or services you are offering. Your website along with any other material that you decide to use that represents your product or service is very important to take into consideration. This is the very essence of who you are and what you offer, so it is best that you try to portray the best that you are, when it comes to implementing and developing your website.

Another popular medium used is today is Social Networking websites (facebook, twitter, and youtube, ECT…), again while this also has its advantages (informing visitors to the site on information and updates you may have). You need to go further into trying to reach out to the end user. If you are going to spend money and create a video to place it on YouTube and expect everyone to run and click on your video, I hate to disappoint you. You will have people that may click on it eventually. Yes it has its benefits, but what I would take it one step further and take that same video and do an Opt-in Email Campaign. An email campaign that will allow for a person to immediately click on it and watch your story. If I send this out to millions people worldwide over a certain time frame (Branding). The chances of people (prospects) viewing your video are a lot higher. You are taking the education of your product, and or service right to there doorstep. I have many other strategies that I will post in the near future. I have been an Investment Banker for 26 years (Pres/CEO WallStreet Advisory Group), and currently own a technology company that specializes in Audio/Video Collaborative Communications, and Public Relations.

What does your website look like?

If it cuts right to the chase and is trying to sell your service that may be your problem.
What you have to do is offer something of value to your prospective client FIRST. Perhaps an informational brochure, or a video with some valuable content about medical tourism.

Second you will need to build a relationship with your prospective client and engage in follow up. Consider subscribing to Aweber which will allow you to do follow up email campaigns with some valuable information.

In my experience in medicine and business, people will not buy on their first interaction with you. It will take anywhere from 2 to 7 interactions before you can expect someone to hand you dollars and you will have to work hard at it.

Hope this helps!

You can try building something like Placidway - http://www.placidway.com or Kosansh http://www.kosansh.com or contact them.

Be active on FB, Flickr, Slideshare and other social media sites. You'll need to build a brand first, then a network and then give value for free to patients and then you'll not have problems in lead generation.
Hello Ramya,
I would suggest you to build networking by logging on to this site called linkedin.com and do have a lot of interaction with medical and health facilitators as well. There is a great potential in this industry, as its an upcoming phenomena.
I believe initially you don't have to invest exorbitantly, just focus on attending conferences to have an better understanding on how this industry works and do take the decisions as per the requirement.

Hi Buddy, we can help you with that send us an e mail.
Hahahaha.... if only I had a penny for each time this thought came to my mind or when somebody asked me this!!!
So here are few ideas. None of this is revolutionary, but if you are not doing this then you are simply wasting your money on other stuff.

1. Social Media: In my opinion the most important aspect of marketing nowadays.
- Write articles and reviews on medical tourism related stuff and then share them social bookmarking sites: http://digg.com , http://redditt.com , http://medtrawell.com - the last one is a medical tourism specific social bookmarking site and you will most probably get very relevant traffic from there.
- become active on medical tourism communities. If you are reading this then you are already doing this.
- create facebook page, tweet regularly, create squidoo lenses see examples (http://www.squidoo.com/choosing-medical-tourism-travel-agent),(http://www.squidoo.com/health-tourist-information)

2. Do some basic SEO - in my opinion don't waste too much time on this. there are huge sites already in this field so just make sure you are not messing up SEO stuff. Whatever you do, you wont instantly jump to the first page of search results.

3. Depending on your service and products choose the right people to get in touch with. eg. http://linkedin.com might help you get in touch with med. toursim professionals but not patients, http://healism.com and http://medtrawell.com are good places to get in touch with patients so make sure you have some articles and posts there. finally medical tourism city is a good place to hang out but in my opinion it can do with some more activity.

There are a lot of other things which you can do like keyword research and targetted advertising which I don't have the patience to type out now.
Thanks for the input, I could not agree more.
I would actually say that keyword research can be very important if you get creative and use the tools correctly. Yes there are many big companies out there but I have found incredible gaps in competition for this field. Building http://www.healthcheckcostarica.com was a pure endeavor in SEO and keyword research, and the site is incredibly well ranked and we have yet to open our doors for business nor promoted the site. There are specific procedures out there with millions of monthly searches and no advertising competition. One could create an entire niche business based on this information. Good luck but do not neglect key word research.
I just checked out the site and I love the voice over.

How are u positiong yourselves???
