Dear All,

We are happy to inform you that we started to work on the second edition of our book originally entitled Health and Wellness Tourism. The  new title is Health, Tourism and Hospitality: Spas, Wellness and Medical Travel.

We have broadened the scope to include hospitality, spas and medical travel to reflect market needs and trends.

This email is a call for expressions of interest in contributing a 300-500 word case study/best practice/product description/etc on a health, wellness or medical tourism or hospitality theme of your choice. The contribution has to be based on an industry practice and should not be a theoretical piece.

The book's provisional new chapter outline is shown below. Ideally, your contribution should reflect one of the themes given but other ideas are welcome.

Part One: History and Development

Chapter One: Introduction (including definitions and scope)

Chapter Two: A History of Health, Wellness and Medical Tourism

Chapter Three: A Geographical and Regional Analysis

Chapter Four: The Social and Cultural Context

Chapter Five: Products and Trends

Chapter Six: The Consumer

Part Two: Managing and Marketing 

Chapter Seven: Destination Management

Chapter Eight:  Sustainable Operations

Chapter Nine:  Targeting and Branding

Chapter Ten: Managing Customers and Experiences

Chapter Eleven: The Future of Health and Wellness Tourism

Chapter Twelve: Conclusions

Part Three: The International Context

This section will include a range of twenty (long) case studies or more from a number of different countries. These will illustrate interesting or innovative developments.
